Inside: Beautiful Christmas art inspiration, Christmas clip art paid and free
Hi Friends! I was teaching in my old school yesterday and noticed this beautiful Christmas art on the walls.
I’m in love with them all!
The beauties below were created by a Grade 3/4 class. From what I can tell they used thick tempera paint.
My best guess is they painted the moon, blue sky and snow first, then added the black details when everything was dry.
These paintings were entered in an art contest, and the premier of our province chose one of them for his annual Christmas card! I believe he’s also having it made into an art print and then framing it to hang in the legislature building. Perhaps in his office? That part I’m not sure about but congrats to the student whose painting was chosen and to the WHOLE class, because these are gorgeous paintings!
The water colours below were done by the same class of 4/5 students.
They used water colour paper and liquid water colours. They drew a design with white crayon, wet down their paper and then added drops of colour. When the paper was still damp they sprinkled on bits of table salt to add some texture.
I like them all but I think my favourites are the ones done in green and red.
The Rudolph paintings below were completed by a Grade 3/4 class. I love the combination of red and blue; the expressive eyes and big noses just make me laugh:) It’s fun to walk past these reindeer and have all the eyes follow you down the hall.
The final artwork I want to show you was made in a Grade 2/3 class. Again I love the blue and red together. But check out those birch trees. Don’t they look fabulous with the musical notes? I thought that was such a brilliant idea.
When I told the teacher how much I loved the birds and trees, she told me that she and her daughter made Christmas cards with the same artwork. So of course, I HAD to do the same!
Here’s my version below. I decided to tear my trees and I used glitter paper for the bird. It took me about 2 hours to make 8 of them but I’m very happy with the results.
A huge thank you to my friends Sarah, Janelle and Erika for sharing their beautiful classroom artwork!!
