Inside: You’ll find a free Christmas book you can download for your child. It’s called The Ginger Boy.
I love doing whole class read alouds. But sometimes it’s hard to find that perfect book for kindergarten and Grade 1.
So I decided to make my own Christmas book, using Eric Carle’s Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? as inspiration.
As we all know, early readers thrive on books with pattern and repeating words and phrases.
Ginger Boy Book: Christmas Freebie
Here’s a peek at the first three pages of Ginger Boy.
The book continues on with:
- yellow star
- blue light
- pink bauble
- purple gift
- Santa Claus
My class really liked this book. I bound it (with some plastic coil binding) and we read it over and over again under the document camera.
I suggest making two of them. The second book should probably be laminated and then you can let the kids read it independently.
If you use the laminated book under your camera you’re going to get lots of shine, so you might want to avoid that.
Please remember that this freebie is for personal use only. You can use it in your class but you can’t redistribute it in any way.
If your friends would like a copy then please send them to this blog post.
Thanks for your understanding!
