Inside: 2 free instant download bat poems.
I have two super cute bat poems for you today.
The first poem, Bippity Boppity Boo, is a name play. In the first blank insert a child’s name (e.g., Sandra) and in the second blank change it to “Bandra”. It’s a great little poem for practicing beginning consonants.

This next poem, Sleeping Bats, is sung to the tune of “Frere Jacques”. It sounds great when the whole class is singing it and the kids love it, too!

Sometimes it’s really fun to use a puppet while reading a poem. My students love to track the text while holding the puppet. Check out this cutie-pie!

On another note, I just finished the most satisfying run through my neighbourhood. I ran past a farm in full pumpkin festival mode, along a meandering bike trail, then up and around Mt. Doug, a beautiful mini-mountain full of old growth trees.
It was perfect!
Now I’m enjoying this power drink.
All you need is about a third of a can of pumpkin (not the pie filling, just the straight pumpkin), some protein powder, cinnamon, flax seed (optional), Silk Vanilla Soy (but you could use any brand of course, or almond milk or whatever suits your fancy), a dollop of yoghurt AND some maple syrup (the real stuff to make it sweet).
It seriously tastes like pumpkin pie and is now my favourite power smoothie. Try it!

That smoothy sounds FABULOUS. I'm going to try it this week! You are super sweet. Thanks for the shout out! Adorable poem, too! Thanks!
I think the smoothie sounds wonderful as well- I'll have to try that one. I've been into smoothies lately and can use a fall-inspired one! 🙂NotJustChild'sPlay

That smoothies looks delish! Thanks for the darling poem.CindyGranny Goes to School
I love pumpkin but have never even heard of a can of pumpkin. I assume it is cooked and blended to make it smooth? Love almond milk so I will try your recipe with fresh cooked purée pumpkin and see how it fairs.Happy runningJulie 🙂 Mrs Stowe's Kinder Cottage
Maybe having a glass of pumpkin deliciousness waiting for me would motivate me to run more often….TaraThe Math Maniac
Okay so I tried this scrumptious sounding delight Barb and it wasn't wonderful with fresh pumpkin so I'm going to search for canned pumpkin. I'm guessing this is a little bit sweet? Will try again. 🙂
Oops, I forgot to mention the maple syrup. I just updated the post. It definitely needs some sweet in there.
I have to try this Barbara it sounds great & I LOVE smoothies!! ✿Sue✿
