Singing and Dancing in the Classroom: Pop See Ko

Are you looking for a fun way to jazz up your morning routine?

Or perhaps you just need to get your kids moving more?

Either way, Koo Koo Kanga Roo has you covered with their dance-along song, Pop See Ko!

Last week I was observing one of my teacher candidates and she played the video below to start off the day.

Her kindergarten class was very happy to begin their Monday morning with some singing and dancing. It was seriously cuteness overload.

Singing and dancing is chock full of healthy benefits. Here’s how it can help:

  1. Improve behaviour
  2. Increase on-task time
  3. Reduce stress
  4. Increase sense of community
  5. Re-energize bodies and brains
  6. Strengthen hearts and lungs
  7. Improve coordination and balance
  8. Improve endurance, energy and stamina
  9. Boost creativity and imagination
  10. Increase laughter and fun!

I hope you include lots of dance breaks in YOUR classroom. And please share your favourite links and ideas in the comments.

Happy Dancing!
