Inside: Make a class book about the Gingerbread Baby!
The Gingerbread Baby
In December we're going to be doing a Gingerbread Unit. One of the things I like to do is have the kids make a class book.
The first thing we do is read The Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett.
After that we brainstorm all the ABC things a gingerbread baby can do.
For example:
A: Acrobats
B: Bounce
C: Cuddle
D: Dance, etc.
Then each child illustrates a page and writes a sentence, such as, "The gingerbread baby can bounce" for the B page.
For Kindergarten and Grade 1 I always make sure that each child uses the same sentence structure. That way it becomes a super easy book for everyone in the class to read!
I then bind the pages and the kids have a really cute classroom book.
Super Cool! Thanks for sharing!!
