Hi There!
I've got the perfect, last-minute Halloween themed activity for you. And it combines math with art. We did it today and it was a HUGE hit with my class. It probably took us about an hour from start to finish.
This great idea comes from Teaching Fabulous Firsties. Thanks, Corinna!
We've been working a LOT on patterns, so my kids are getting pretty good at them. Most of them can even make complicated ones like ABBC, although today many of them stuck with an AB pattern ~ Darn! I should have banned that one:) ~ OR an AABB pattern.
In any case, they did a great job with their houses and they loved making ghost and jack-o-lantern patterns with paint-dipped fingers and sharpies.
Oops, we have a pattern error :) Lovely house, though!
