The Old Lady is back! My class adores all the Old Lady books and this is one of their faves!

I made this freebie for you: a labelling-sequencing-writing activity.
After a week of reading our big book version of The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat I gave the kids an enlarged version of the worksheet below.
Together we labelled each one of the little pictures with the correct spelling (ghost, owl, bones, goblin, bat, cat, wizard).
Then they numbered each image in the order in which it appeared in the story.
After that the kids independently filled in the blanks and then coloured the old lady.
I don’t have any finished photos to show you, but they looked fabulous!
And for some extra practice, we wrote rhyming words for bat and cat on the back of the sheet.
I have a lot of little ones who really need to practice neat printing and colouring, so this was a fun way to do just that (not to mention the practice they got spelling and sequencing, too)!
Click here to grab the Old Lady worksheet. And if you want a bigger version, it’s easy to enlarge on your photocopier.
I’ve also included some variations, which I explain in the free pdf.
