Inside: Two fun and simple Halloween spelling games
It’s getting closer to Halloween which means it’s time to pull out a few fun Halloween inspired activities.
I have two very simple Halloween spelling games for you today.
The first one involves sidewalk chalk! Everyone likes learning outside, right?
And the weather has been so amazing in my neck of the woods that this would be an easy activity.
All you need to do is give your kids a list of Halloween theme words (either ones you or the class have generated). Give every pair of kids your list (scroll down for mine) and some chalk.
Let the kids have fun and be creative with their drawings. Only rule! They must label their Halloween drawings with the correct spelling.
This second game, Roll a Halloween Word, was always a favourite in my class. I liked it, too, because the kids had lots of practice with repetitive spelling and printing. And they liked it because they got to use the dice and it was a friendly competition.
The directions are very easy to follow and I’ve included them in the pdf download (scroll down).
Be sure to grab yesterday’s Halloween Colouring Page!
