Happy New Year!
I'm kicking off 2016 by sharing three of my favourite winter art projects from Pinterest.
We have a least one art lesson a week and both the kids and I love them.
My first pinterest pick, Shivery Snow Paint, comes from Growing a Jeweled Rose. This shaving cream, glue and glitter mixture will make the most amazing 3D snowmen! I can hardly wait to try it out.

I've seen these melted snowmen for a couple of years now, but I've yet to try them out with my class. I love the painted crayon resist in the background and the blurred oil pastels around the snowballs. This is definitely another "must-do" for me. This idea and photo is from Tiny Art Room.

My final choice is this lovely rendition of
The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. I really like the way newspaper was used for the buildings and I know my kids will have lots of fun with the sky colours.

They're so cute, aren't they? It could be a first day back at school project:)
DeleteGreat winter art projects! The paint would be so cute on the snowmen too. Thank you so much for sharing your pins and linking up with us! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome:)
DeleteI really like your choices of snow projects. I really want to do the snowman from up high this year, too. We are about to launch into snow stuff tomorrow, even if we don't have any on the ground! Thanks for posting. Kathleen
ReplyDeleteNope we don't have snow either. But that's never stopped me:)
DeleteYour blog is simply beautiful! I live in GA where we seldom, if ever, get snow, so I enjoy all things snow in the classroom in January, too! Thanks for linking up with us!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley! Yeah, we don't get a whole lot of snow either. Even though I live in Canada we're in the "tropical" part, i.e., Victoria:)
DeleteOh my goodness! I love the art connections you have this month! Great pins!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christa.
DeleteThose melting snowmen are adorable. I am going to have to do that with the class! Kristi Teaching Little Miracles
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty cute, aren't they? I'm going to try and do them this Friday.
DeleteThanks for stopping by Kristi and Happy New Year!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly. Be sure to check out Mrs. Price's Kindergators for a really cute poem that goes perfectly with the melting snowmen. http://mrspriceskindergators.blogspot.ca/2016/01/january-pinterest-pick-3-linky.html
DeleteI've never done the melted snowmen either, but they sure are cute.
