In honour of Remembrance Day on November 11th (here in Canada) my kids painted these gorgeous poppy fields.
It was a lesson on perspective so we talked about foreground, mid-ground and background. The kids then painted a field of green grass and poppies.
I think they did a pretty good job!
You can find more Remembrance Day ideas, including another art project, a book to read and a simple writing activity RIGHT HERE. There's also a Canadian linky with even more wonderful ideas.

They did a great job! I can totally tell that they painted poppies with perspective.
