Hi Everyone!
I've been thinking about this for awhile. Every week I introduce a new poem to my class and we read it all week long, in all sorts of different ways.
We echo read, choral read, alternate readings with boys/girls, read in funny voices, read with actions, underline sight words, blends, etc., and then finally end the week with poetry theatre.
I know that most of you do the same thing and if you're like me, you probably have lots of old favourites. But it's also nice to add to your collection of poems, freshen it up and give it some zing!
So that's where this linky comes in. Every Sunday I'm going to post my poem for the upcoming week. You'll be able to grab a printable version, both colour and black and white, ready to use Monday morning if you like OR just to save for another day.
I hope you'll join the fun and link up with me. I'd love to expand, enliven, improve my own collection!
BTW, I realize this is kind of early ... I mean I just started summer holidays two weeks ago:) But I know lots of you are teaching right now or are about to start in the next week or two. For the rest of the summer I'll be posting poems that I think work well for the beginning of the school year then I'll start switching over into fall, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc.
Here's my first offering :) If you click the image you'll get a Grade One and Two version (4 pages in all).

Barb, this is a great idea! I can't wait to follow along. I feel quite inadequate teaching poetry, so maybe this will give me the push I need!
