How To Remove Shadows from Blogger Images

Blogger Tutorial: Removing shadows from blogger images

I have an easy, but important blogger tutorial for you today.

You might notice (especially if you didn't have a designer work on your blog) that there are shadows around all your post images, including your signature.

Depending on your preference, you may or may not like that shadowing.

I actually kind of like it around photos, but the style these days is to have a flat image.

Why Does My Signature Look so Weird?

Another problem you might run into (depending on how your signature was installed) is that you've ended up with the shadow around your John Henry. Now that's definitely NOT pretty. Nobody wants that weird looking box around their signature, yet it's surprising how often I run into it.

How to Fix it?

Fortunately it's a super easy fix. All you need to do is add a little code to your CSS (cascade styling sheet):
1. Go to your blogger dashboard
2. Click on "Customize"
3. Click on "Advanced"
4. Scroll down until you see "Add CSS". Click on that.
5. In the window that opens up you're going to paste the following code:
.post-body img, .post-body .tr-caption-container, .Profile img, .Image img, .BlogList .item-thumbnail img {
-moz-box-shadow: none !important;
-goog-ms-box-shadow: none !important;
-webkit-box-shadow:none !important;
box-shadow:none;
border: none;
}
6. Click "Apply"

This will remove the shadowing from all images in your post AND sidebar.

If you only want to remove the shadowing from your post area then just add this code:

.post-body img {
-moz-box-shadow: none !important;
-goog-ms-box-shadow: none !important;
-webkit-box-shadow:none !important;
box-shadow:none;
border: none;
}

Be sure to hit "Apply" so that your change sticks.

And here are the results:

Pretty easy, huh?

A little disclaimer here: I'm completely self-taught and am not even close to being an expert, so if you know of a better way, I'd love to hear it:)
