My class just read a really fun Kindle book! Author, Julia Dweck, gave me a copy and asked if I'd share it with my class.
Where Are the Dinos? is an entertaining story about a little dog who has a TON of funny questions about dinosaurs. The entire book rhymes with a bouncy beat that's easy to follow. The illustrations are bright and fun.
Here are some of the comments from my class when we finished the story:
Awesome! I love the ending where the dinosaur winks.
Cool! I really liked all the dog's questions.
I liked it when the T-Rex crashed!
It was awesome, especially the wink at the end.
I liked it 'cause it was silly. It was silly when the dog grabbed his leg.
I liked the pool party at night with the green water!
A couple of my girls thought it was just okay. When I asked them why, they said they "weren't into dinosaurs". Too cute! I guess we'll have to try one of the fairy books instead.
The second day we looked at it, we took turns reading. I read the first page, the kids read the second and so on. As a class they didn't have too much trouble reading it, but independently only my top readers would be able to handle it.
The book is only $3 but Julia just sent me an email saying it's free on the 25th and 26th for her birthday celebration!! Click HERE if you'd like a copy!
This is the first Kindle book I've used in the classroom and I have to say it was a lot of fun. We don't have iPads at our school, so I had to bring in my own but if you have them (and I know lots of you do), I would definitely check out Julia's books.

Happy reading, friends!
