Currently in March

Thanks again, Farley, for hosting Currently :))

LOVE CBC radio: Quirks & Quarks, Jian Ghomeshi, The Debaters, Definitely Not the Opera.

My husband has this endearing habit of bringing me a Starbucks drink early in the morning before he goes off to golf :))

My mom is 80 years old next Friday! She's flying off to Winnipeg (by herself!!) to celebrate with her twin sister. She expressed an interest in an ipad (what a hip ol' gal she is :)) so that's what we're giving her this afternoon.

I'm currently out of commission running-wise (just getting over pneumonia). I haven't run in 18 days, but hope to do a slow walk/run next weekend, maybe .... keeping my fingers crossed.

My reports are mostly written (thank goodness I could get that done while I was home sick) but I have to do some more assessments and add in the extra info.  It feels overwhelming right now.

Bananas: A runner's staple. They're good with peanut butter and a couple of dark chocolate chips:)

Books: Can't get enough!

Babies: Grandbaby specifically :)

Boastful people: They drive me bananas!!

  6. Congrats on your mom's 80 birthday. My mom celebrate her 84th last December. I sure hope I've inherited her genes!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get to running soon...pneumonia takes such a toll. I love my swimming and hate it when I can't get in the pool. House-bound is NO fun.

  8. Bananas with peanut butter are my absolute favorite snack! I do raisins instead of chocolate chips, but it's still yummy! I'm pretty sure I got the idea from Mr. Rogers way back when he was on TV! Feel Better!

  11. Hey Barb - I feel your pain on the running thing. 18 days is a long time to be out of commission. So sorry, I hope you are back on the roads soon. You are so blessed to have your mom with you - how cute is she?!?

  12. Hi, Barb. I'm catching up on your blog posts - I just love your blog!! I can't wait to grab the lion and lamb for my newsletter and your St. Patrick blinky for my blog. Thanks! You are so lucky and blessed to still have your mom around and in good health! Wow! Sounds like a fun trip she has planned to see her twin sister. You should post a picture of them! What a special celebration. Hope you are feeling better, too, and can get out and get some fresh air on a nice walk. You are lucky as well to have that Chai Tea waiting for your - I sure wish I had one right about now.
