OWL’s quilt

It’s done!!!!

You have no idea how happy I am about this.

I’ve been working on this quilt (off and on) since about May. It’s for Baby OWL (Olin Winter Leyne), my one-month old grandson!

It’s not your typical baby quilt, that’s for sure. But I was attracted to all the bright colours. When I started it, we didn’t know if he was a boy or girl. But I think it works well either way.

The back is black and white polka dots!

Our plan was to pop over to Vancouver (we live in Victoria) bright and early Saturday morning. Come Friday morning I had the whole top pieced together, but that was it!

So I spent all Friday afternoon pinning and sewing the top to the batting and backing.

Took a break for a little party:)

Then came home and hand sewed the binding until 2:30 a.m.

Yes, I was very tired Saturday. But given that we spent our whole day cuddling our new baby, it was all worth it.

Have a super week!

  1. I LOVE love love it. We have very alike tastes. I'll post one I made another time. Olin will have it forever. Those are the great things in life I think. I love doing the bindings. They make me feel old fashioned. Perhaps not at 2:30am but I have been there too! xoKimberleyFirst in Maine
